National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The Cart by Marketday and the NDIS
The NDIS is an Australian Government initiative designed to improve the lives of people living with disabilities. It provides funding for equipment, care, and supports that enable people to live more independently and participate fully in daily life. It's about personal choice around how a person lives and how they connect with the world around them.
At Marketday, we believe that with the right tools, people can do almost anything – independently or with support. The Marketday cart provides an everyday solution to the age-old problem of carrying stuff, creating opportunities for greater independence, community engagement, and social participation.
It's not for everyone, but it might be right for you!
Alignment with NDIS Goals
Under the NDIS funding structure, the Cart by Marketday aligns most closely with:
- 04: Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation
The cart may support participants whose goals include:
- Building, improving, or maintaining independence with daily tasks
- Enhancing participation in social and community activities
While the cart may be NDIS-funded, it has been designed to benefit anyone by encouraging independence, social connection, and active participation in local communities. It’s designed to keep you mobile, while not being a specific mobility device (like a walker).
Supporting Independence in Daily Life
The Cart is designed for people of all ages and stages of life. It provides a simple yet effective way to carry items from place to place, maintain independence and mobility, and stay connected to community activities. Everyday uses include:
· Carrying shopping
· Attending picnics and social outings
· Walking to the library, café, or local market
· Transporting personal items around the home
By making these activities easier, the cart empowers individuals who may otherwise need assistance, allowing them to manage daily tasks independently. Its stylish design also helps users feel confident and motivated to get out and about.
The key features that our customers love:
- Lightweight baskets with dual handles
- Three interchangeable storage baskets, including insulated options to keep food, medical supplies, and other items cool
